Callout for those interested in serving as student trustee set for Wednesday

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The application process for the 2017-2019 student member of the Purdue University Board of Trustees is underway, and a callout is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 11) in Krach Leadership Center, Room 260.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall leadership of the university and has a trustee position reserved for a student within the Purdue system. Applicants must have two or more years remaining as a full-time undergraduate, graduate and/or professional student.

The process involves an initial application available on the Board of Trustees website, which is due Feb. 10. The search committee will then interview selected applicants, and 10 finalists’ names will be sent to Gov. Eric Holcomb’s office for consideration. The governor appoints the student member of the board to serve a two-year term.

Interested students may learn more about the position and the process at Wednesday’s callout or by emailing the search committee at studenttrusteeresearch@purdue.edu.
