- The Purdue Polytechnic Institute Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Technology degree from the Department of Computer and Information Technology recently was ranked fourth in the nation.
College Choice issued the ranking, citing the department’s “culture of innovation, critical thinking, and creativity.” Students may choose concentrations including network engineering technology and systems analysis and design and focus on field-specific problem-solving skills as hallmarks of the network engineering technology concentration.
The ranking noted students majoring in systems analysis and design are encouraged to minor in fields like finance, agriculture or healthcare to be prepared for working in specific industries. Students are required to expand their education beyond their specific majors by taking courses in communication, accounting, economics and professional writing.
