Parking information and suggested traffic routes for Purdue summer commencement

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University is providing suggested traffic routes and parking information for those attending the summer commencement ceremony Saturday (Aug. 4) at 9:30 a.m.

From the north using Northwestern Avenue Garage

Take Northwestern Avenue south to 504 Northwestern Ave.

Enter ramp by turning left. 

From the south using Northwestern Avenue Garage

Take River Road north to U.S. 231 North - Purdue University/West Lafayette exit.

Stay right on ramp and continue onto Fowler Avenue.

Keep right and take Fowler to Grant Street.

Turn Right onto Grant Street

Enter parking ramp by turning left. 

From the north using University Street Garage

Take Northwestern Avenue south to Grant Street.

Take Grant Street to State Street.

Turn right on State Street.

Turn Right on University Street.

Turn left on 2nd Street.

Enter parking garage by turning right.

From the east using University Street Garage

Take State Street through the Village.

Turn right on University Street.

Turn left onto 2nd Street.

Enter parking garage by turning right.

From south using University Street Garage

Take Martin Jischke Drive north to State Street.

Turn right on State Street.

Turn left on University Street.

Turn left onto 2nd Street.

Enter parking garage by turning right.

From west using University Street Garage

Take State Street to University Street.

Turn right on University Street.

Turn left onto 2nd Street.

Enter parking garage by turning right.

Graduates or those with family members with disabilities or mobility concerns are asked to use the both the gravel parking lot and parking structure on North University Street where golf carts will be available to assist with transport to Elliott Hall of Music. If using the University Garage, please enter via the south entrance and park on the first level. Vehicular traffic is not allowed in the area around Elliott Hall.

State Street Redevelopment Project construction is in process. This work is closing portions of Stadium Avenue, McCormick Road, Airport Road and Williams Street and significantly affecting surrounding thoroughfares in West Lafayette.

As previously, graduates who arrive after the procession will not be allowed to take part in the ceremony.
