Additive Manufacturing certification registration available online

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. —Registration is now available for a noncredit, online Additive Manufacturing (AM) certificate, offered by Purdue Online, College of Engineering, in collaboration with the Purdue School of Materials Engineering and The Barnes Group Advisors (TBGA), a Pittsburgh-based consulting company providing additive manufacturing expertise. The certificate program starts March 20.

TBGA is providing program instructors who are active professionals with decades of consulting and industry experience. Online course content will cover AM science, technology, economics and business, along with industry case studies, which provide students with a wealth of knowledge, foundational skills and effective preparation for real-world application.

“The online program in Additive Manufacturing is both timely in its subject coverage and creative in the industry partnership with The Barnes Group Advisors,”  says Mung Chiang, Purdue’s John A. Edwardson Dean of the College of Engineering. "Innovating how we learn online is a key priority for Purdue’s College of Engineering.”

TBGA was founded by managing director and Purdue graduate, John E. Barnes (BSMSE ’92, MSMSE ’94), and currently consists of 12 employees, who form their ADDvisor℠ Services team.

"I attended Purdue for both my undergraduate and graduate-level education," Barnes says. "It helped shape the engineer and the entrepreneur that I have become today. I have always admired the astronauts who attended Purdue and their efforts to give back to the university. I feel this is my small way of giving back too."

Group discounts are available. Registration can be found here. For more certification information, visit the program page. For more information, contact us at AMonline@purdue.edu.
