Parents of college student who died in hazing incident to speak at Purdue on Saturday (Jan. 26)

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The parents of a student who died in 2017 as a result of a hazing incident at Pennsylvania State University will share the story of their son and talk about hazing prevention Saturday (Jan. 26) at Purdue University.

Jim and Evelyn Piazza will speak at 5 p.m. in Elliott Hall of Music. The event is free and open to the public.

The Piazzas’ son, Timothy, was a sophomore at Penn State when he died after a night of pledging activities to a fraternity. Since then, the Piazzas have been actively sharing their message and seeking reforms.

The event is sponsored by Purdue’s Fraternity, Sorority and Cooperative Life and its governing councils, and the Office of Vice Provost for Student Life.
