Custom software can help businesses increase productivity, save money

DelMar Software Development continues to grow 15 years after their startup beginning

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A purpose-driven company is helping businesses gain competitive advantages, among other productivity and financial benefits, through custom software programs.

The company, DelMar Software Development, with offices in the Kurz Purdue Technology Center in the Purdue Research Park of West Lafayette, is celebrating 15 years of business this summer.

Companies working with DelMar have the opportunity to build solutions specific to their processes and challenges, and not be pigeonholed or limited by inflexible, “one-size fits all”, off-the-shelf software.

“We work in partnership with our clients, we prioritize understanding their business so we can help solve their problems. We can write software for whatever a customer wants, for whatever industry they are in,” said Kyle Lutes, who co-founded DelMar with Mikel Berger in 2004.

Custom software can enhance efficiency and effectiveness in how an employee performs their job.  Building a system that includes a company’s specific business rules can increase consistency and reduce errors.  It can also save money by reducing training costs and allowing employees to be productive faster.

The addition of software to a company’s resources can be a key factor in meeting strategic goals and planning.

“When we write software for a business, it becomes their own intellectual property, their own asset.  We like long-term relationships with our clients. We want to be their technology partner as they change and grow in the years to come” said Lutes.

A video about DelMar Software Development is available here.

Since launching 15 years ago, DelMar has grown to 14 employees, logged over 95,000 hours building custom applications for mobile, web, desktops, and cloud servers. They have worked with more than 50 clients and more than 200 projects in diverse industries including agriculture, education, property management, and insurance. Combined, the staff has more than  135 years of professional software development experience.

Although the company is based in West Lafayette, DelMar has worked with clients throughout the country, with clients in Ohio, Colorado, West Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin and throughout Indiana.

“We definitely appreciate and are proud of the strides made in technology by the state of Indiana and we want to continue to be a part of that growth and success,” said Liz Pestow, DelMar project manager. “However, when it comes to who we can work with, we are borderless.”

DelMar is commemorating their ‘15 years of success’ milestone this month by hosting a celebration in honor of their clients, supporters and the community.

“We are proud of the company we’ve become, the projects we’ve worked on and the ongoing partnerships we’ve formed with our clients, it’s definitely worthy of celebration,” Lutes said.
