Lilly chief scientific officer to speak at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Dr. Daniel Skovronsky, president of Lilly Research Laboratories and chief scientific officer of Eli Lilly and Co., will present “What IF We Stopped Fighting Disease?” on Oct. 4 at Purdue University.

The talk will be at 10:30 a.m. in Stewart Center’s Fowler Hall. Co-sponsored with Discovery Park, the event is free and open to the public. This is one of many events celebrating Purdue’s sesquicentennial, 150 Years of Giant Leaps. This yearlong celebration acknowledges the university’s global advancements made in health, longevity and quality of life. This is one of the four themes of the yearlong celebration’s Ideas Festival, designed to showcase Purdue as an intellectual center solving real-world issues.

Skovronsky joined Lilly in 2010 when the company acquired Avid Radiopharmaceuticals Inc, where he had been CEO since founding the company in 2004. At Lilly, Skovronsky has held various roles, including vice president of tailored therapeutics, vice president of diabetes research, and most recently as senior vice president of clinical and product development.

Skovronsky completed his residency training in pathology and fellowship training in neuropathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
