Expanded Purdue Team Store website includes new features, a one-stop shop for Boilermaker pride

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Need to replace that well-worn Purdue sweatshirt? Searching for that perfect gift for the future, current or past Boilermaker, or huge fan? Want to share your Boilermaker pride with friends and family?

You don’t have to search far and wide. It now takes just one click to the Purdue Team Store to find many Boilermaker items.

“We’re working to create a one-stop shop to make it easy to find whatever you’re looking for without having to hunt,” said Dan Hasler, executive vice president for communications. “Shoppers used to have to go to any number of places, depending on what they were looking for. We’ve made it convenient by putting multiple types of merchandise into one place. And we’ve added new features.”

“Buy from Boilers” is one of the newest features and showcases products produced by alumni and friends of the university, Hasler said. “It’s another way to keep the Purdue family connected and to support fellow Boilermakers. This will be expanded as we get more businesses involved.”

“Buy from Boilers” is located under the “Shop by Interest” tab on the Purdue Team Store website.

Also within the “Buy from Boilers” tab: the College of Engineering’s INSPIRE Research Institute for Pre-College Engineering Gift Guide. Now in its sixth year, the guide boasts more than 120 toys, books and games for children and teens, ages 1-18, in categories ranging from building and circuits to logic and puzzles.

“From talking with parents we know that they want to provide their children with toys, games and books that they find enjoyable but have a learning element to them,” said Elizabeth Gajdzik, assistant director of INSPIRE. “The items we include in our guide are just that – they are fun gifts that engage children in engineering thinking and design.”

Additionally, under “Shop by Interest,” items specific to some colleges and units can be found. “This is another area where we intend to grow and expand,” Hasler said.

The team store has clothing for children, men and women, Nike gear, hats and novelty items of all sorts. For men and women, Tag Heuer and Movado watches are available. Jewelry also is available. Under a tag for kids, several toys are listed. Novelty items include car, golf and pet accessories, sports equipment and tailgating items, hat pins, kitchen and drinkware, office supplies and luggage, flags and wall hangings and graduation collections. There also is a “Sale” tab for discounted items.

“We are thrilled to have the expanded site,” Hasler said. “By combining many Purdue products into one site, it should make shopping quick and easy.”
