Appointments, honors and activities

Faculty and staff honors:

- Purdue claimed multiple awards Feb. 28 during the recent American Advertising Federation of North Central Indiana’s annual ADDY Awards presentations. The awards honored creative excellence in advertising efforts during 2019. The Purdue areas recognized and their awards are:

  • Purdue Student Life Marketing winning a silver award (Purdue Memorial Union site redesign).
  • Purdue Research Communications department winning two silver awards (“Night at the Museum” special event material and Executive Vice President of Research and Partnerships annual report: “This Is Us”).
  • Marketing and Media winning three silver awards (Apollo 11 anniversary booklet, Health and Human Sciences home-page redesign and Purdue Center for Cancer Research website); a gold award (Small Steps Giant Leaps advertising illustrations); and the Mosaic Award (Black Cultural Center fall events brochure).
  • Development Office/Purdue Research Foundation winning four silver awards (Ever Grateful lenticular card, Ever True Campaign website, President’s Council newsletter and Ever True Campaign halftime show); four gold awards (President’s Council fall mailer, Naples 3D 150th giveaway, Once Upon a Time year-end mailer and No Limits astronaut reunion poster); two Judge’s Choice awards (No Limits astronaut reunion poster and Ever True Campaign award website); the Best of Show Print (Once Upon a Time year-end mailer; and the Best of Show Overall (No Limits astronaut reunion poster).
  • College of Health and Human Sciences winning a gold award (Hopscotch Experiment video) and Best of Show Digital (Hopscotch Experiment video).
  • Tasha Bannon with Purdue Student Life Marketing also received a student silver (Oasis hot chocolate point of purchase) and gold award (Recreation and Wellness Legacy Wall).
  • Cathy Swick, senior graphic designer for Purdue Research Foundation’s University Development Office, received the Silver Medal award, a lifetime achievement award in the marketing, advertising and public relations industry.

Gold and silver ADDY award winners will advance to the district 6 competition, which includes local professional advertising clubs in Indiana, Illinois and Michigan.

Rankings:

- Krannert School of Management was ranked No. 12 in the country in Poets & Quants’ list of the best value business schools five years after graduation. More information is online.
