GoGig’s free, anonymous platform lists 10 million-plus career opportunities for Purdue alumni, other professionals

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – GoGig Jobs Inc., an anonymous professional networking platform, will help Purdue University’s 500,000-plus alumni take advantage of career advancement opportunities through an agreement with the Purdue Alumni Association. The platform is called Purdue Alumni Career Connect, powered by GoGig. The Purdue platform will be free for Purdue alumni and students.

GoGig was founded in the fall of 2016 for job seekers around the U.S. by Purdue Krannert School of Management alumnus Chris Hodges, who said the platform helps individuals anonymously match to hiring companies that may be a better fit than their current employment position. The national GoGig platform is free for a job candidate to sign up for today. Hodges explains the benefits in this video.

“GoGig is founded on the principle that the power of anonymity can benefit currently employed professionals by allowing them to keep their options open without jeopardizing their current career and remove all unconscious bias and discrimination in the hiring process,” said Hodges, who also is CEO for the company. “True anonymity also removes any possibility of the hiring professional being able to search for information about a candidate on social media sites.”

“Our priority is to help individuals meet their professional goals and help match companies with needed talent anonymously based on career desire data that doesn’t exist on a resume or LinkedIn profile.”

Once an individual signs up for the platform and provides a writing sample, artificial intelligence and an algorithmic search matches the career desires and communication style of the job candidate with the needs of the hiring company. The data collected does not include revealing information about any protected equal employment opportunity class including race, age, gender, religion or veteran status. The site also does not include job postings, applications, resumes or keyword crawlers in the process.

“Our alumni populations are struggling as a result of current labor economic conditions. We hope to accelerate GoGig into the higher education space to allow alumni the ability to lean on their alma maters for help when they need it most,” Hodges said.

The company already has unique partners that use the GoGig technology today:

  • Military transition programs for U.S. veterans and service members.
  • Organizations in the hiring process that want to remove bias in internal company promotion and internal mobility.
  • State and municipality governments that aim to stimulate economic development and get their residents back to work.

“We are adding higher education to our product suite because we recognize there is a great interest and need of mid-career college graduates who wish to enhance their professional goals and an equally great interest and need from hiring companies for these talented individuals,” Hodges said.

Martin Sickafoose, vice president of marketing and digital strategy for the Purdue Alumni Association, said the GoGig platform would provide another amenity for Purdue graduates.

“GoGig has a lot to offer our alumni, and we plan to provide some additional educational opportunities focusing on continued career advancement for Purdue graduates including a webinar about the platform with Chris Hodges once the site goes live,” Sickafoose said. “The platform complements Purdue’s other alumni engagement opportunities including networking events, an online platform to connect with former classmates and ways to engage more strongly with Purdue.”

The Purdue Alumni Career Connect platform is expected to go live in the first half of 2021. More information can be found at https://purduealumnicareerconnect.com.
