Purdue Foundry to host startup showcase

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A startup showcase will provide new opportunities for professionals to invest in, mentor or work for emerging companies connected to the Purdue University entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Purdue Foundry will host a virtual Fall Showcase on Thursday (Oct. 8) to feature startups that have worked with the Foundry to develop their businesses through the Double Down Experiment (DDX). The showcase will run 3:30-5 p.m. ET as a webinar. More information and registration is available here.

“During the pandemic, we wanted to provide a way for investors, mentors and other professionals to see the success of our startups and have the opportunity to help them achieve even more,” said Wade Lange, vice president and chief entrepreneurial officer of the Purdue Research Foundation.

Selected for their growth potential, these DDX companies have been working with the Purdue Foundry to troubleshoot their unique challenges and partner with targeted resources.

The seven companies selected for the DDX Fall Showcase are:

* MindLabs – adventures in augmented reality to save the world with STEM.

* Project Process – improving patient hand hygiene with Portare.

* Adipo Therapeutics – changing diabetes treatment by changing fat.

* VinSense – an innovative SaaS platform for agriculture crop production.

* Brightlamp – helping clinicians solve the concussion crisis with Reflex through the diagnostic power of the pupil.

* Studytable – a knowledge-sharing platform for college students.

* Safe Food En Route – a complete supplier of food safety solution for SMBs.

DDX is a pre-accelerator program designed to help startups identify and overcome the challenges of launching a high-growth business. DDX focuses on experimentation, iteration and constant learning so founding teams are ready for next stage growth.

Founders attend monthly meetups with industry experts and their peers to help accelerate growth and identify new opportunities.
