Appointments and promotions:
Purdue University’s College of Health and Human Sciences has announced Dr. Michelle Garrison as the next head of the Department of Public Health, effective July 1. Dr. Amanda Seidl has served as interim head since August and will remain on faculty in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. Garrison joins Purdue from the University of Washington School of Public Health, where she currently serves as professor in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health and the associate director of the MPH/MS program with a joint appointment in the School of Medicine, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
– The College of Health and Human Sciences has announced that Catherine McBride will begin serving as the associate dean for research effective August 15. McBride will also be a professor of human development and family studies. McBride joins Purdue from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she currently serves as the Choh-Ming Li Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology.
Faculty and staff honors:
Chelsea Coursey, chief development officer for the College of Education, has been named a Certified Fund Raising Executive, joining over 7,500 professionals around the world who hold this distinction. The CFRE credential recognizes fundraising professionals who have met a series of standards set by CFRE International, including tenure in the profession, education and demonstrated fundraising achievement.
