Purdue Global announced as presenting sponsor for 2023-24 Purdue men’s and women’s basketball seasons

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Global, Purdue University’s online school for working adults, has been named the presenting sponsor for the 2023-24 Boilermaker men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

As part of a multiyear partnership across all of Purdue Athletics, presenting sponsor opportunities include enhanced visibility for Purdue Global inside Mackey Arena and title placements across radio, television, digital and social media.

Additional Information

“There is so much excitement happening with Purdue Global right now, ranging from the new marketing campaign to new opportunities for working adults coming back to finish their degrees,” said Kati Pratt, executive director of brand and marketing strategy. “This partnership allows us yet another opportunity to tell our story to the more than 40 million Americans who have some college credit but no degree and who are looking for a degree they can trust. Purdue Global students, much like the student-athletes we root for, are dedicated and determined to work hard, make comebacks and succeed in life.”

Purdue Global launched a new brand platform and marketing campaign called “This Is My Comeback” in April 2023. Purdue Marketing and Communications has been talking to current students and alumni to capture their “comeback” stories, showing the real lives and challenges that working adults face as they look to improve their career trajectory, economic standing and quality of life by earning a degree they can be proud of and employers respect.

Purdue Global has more than 35,000 students enrolled and awards an estimated 11,000 degrees and certificates each year. Currently at Purdue Global:

  • 60% are 30 years of age or older.
  • 51% have a child or other dependents.
  • 50% are first-generation college students.
  • 42% are underrepresented minorities.
  • 37% are Pell Grant recipients.
  • Nearly one-third are either in the military or veterans.

“Our ongoing partnership with Purdue Global elevates the successes and innovations achieved by both our organizations to impact this great university,” said Mike Bobinski, Purdue University vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics. “The name recognition, prestige and best-in-class value of this institution is reflected through both our Boilermaker basketball teams and Purdue Global, which is what makes this an ideal relationship. We look forward to Purdue Global continuing to be part of our tradition-rich and inspiring game day environments at Mackey Arena.”

The agreement between Purdue Global and Purdue Athletics is managed by Purdue Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield — the leading media and technology company powering college sports.
