Aditi Anand intends to use her Boilermaker Engineering education as a foundation for addressing inequities in global healthcare.  Aditi pursued this interest through campus engagement as Director of Donations for WorldHealth Purdue by organizing drives to collect medical supplies for service trips to Honduras. Aditi returns to Chennai, India where she attended seventh grade at a local school.  In collaboration with faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras together with the Government Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, Aditi will work on developing a high-performing AI model to diagnose breast cancer from low-cost mammograms. She notes that women in India have a 40% lower survival rate for breast cancer compared to those in developed countries.

 

In addition to envisioning the practice of medicine powered by technology, Aditi understands the healing power of music.  A student of South Indian Classical Music (Carnatic Music) for over 13 years, Aditi plans to engage with and learn from the community of musicians during her time in Chennai.
