Kaitlyn Greer was awarded the Gilman Scholarship to study abroad in Argentina on the IFSA Summer in Buenos Aires program. With Argentina’s strong focus on positive mental health, this aspiring clinical psychologist was excited to find this program. The perspectives she can gain through this program are invaluable to her future work in a global setting.

With her interest in art therapy, she is looking forward to touring the art scene in Buenos Aires. Meeting local artists, seeing La Boca’s murals, and visiting the Museum of Latin American Art will give her a chance to expand her artistic worldview and explore the variety in Argentinian culture.

From her love of art comes Kaitlyn’s follow-on project proposal. She intends to host an art class alongside a presentation on her experiences on study abroad and the Gilman for a freshman honors society. She hopes to combine photography and sketches to encourage creativity and self-expression, increase their cultural awareness, and explore the possibilities that can come from new ideas.
