Daniel Jo was awarded the Gilman Scholarship to study abroad in South Korea on the Korea University International Summer Campus program. Already familiar with South Korea from childhood, he looks forward to returning. As an aspiring financial analyst, this program will give him an unparalleled in-depth experience studying the Korean economy and Asian global market that will advance him towards his career goals.

While in Korea, Daniel does not intend to merely study. He also hopes to immerse himself culturally through learning new recipes, seeing cultural landmarks, and participating in K-Pop dancing, a favorite pastime of Korean youth.

Daniel plans to utilize his position as a foreign cooperation officer for the Korean Undergraduate Student Association at Purdue to spread awareness of his study abroad program and Gilman with his peers as his follow-on project.
