Mason Pellegrini joined the ranks of more than 400,000 Fulbrighters who have gone abroad to conduct research, study, or teach in one of 165 partner countries since 1946.

On the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright program, Mason began conducting his research program at Potificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in Santiago. Motivated by his interest in entrepreneurial communication, Mason will collect data for his dissertation through his involvement in a business accelerator called Start-Up Chile. More specifically, this location provides a unique glimpse of the international differences that he is equipped to observe through the lens of his training in rhetoric and his appreciation for the art of persuasion.

Quick to point out how entrepreneurs are misjudged for what others presume to be motivated by greed, Mason has a personal history of overcoming what others might have judged him to be prior to setting himself on a path toward college. From this start in Seattle, Mason completed a bachelor’s degree in Writing Studies and he continued to succeed in academia.
