The Jefferson Fellows program is for tenured or similarly ranked academic scientists, engineers and physicians from institutions of higher learning who are U.S. citizens. One year is spent at the Department of State or USAID. Interests and expertise of the fellows are linked with needs of the hosting office. After the fellowship year, fellows return to their academic career but remain available to the U.S. government as an experienced consultant for short-term projects. Learn More
