Recruiting Excellent Faculty

The newly developed Recruiting Excellent Faculty (REF) online training is now available. This training is essential to equip committee members with the skills and knowledge to conduct efficient, effective, and compliant searches.

As a reminder, REF training is required for anyone serving on a Purdue University faculty search committee. Certification must be renewed every five years. Committee chairs should verify and maintain the training records of all committee members before executing the search. Committee members who completed their training in person within the last five years are not required to complete the online training until they are due for renewal.

Confirmation of training for committee members who completed the training in person can be found here.

Access the training

Committee members can access the online training via the WebCert catalog under the "Vice President for Ethics and Compliance section." Alternatively, they can register directly by clicking here. (Please remember that you will need to log into the WebCert using your Purdue credentials.)

Steps for Completion:

  1. Complete each module and pass the end-of-module knowledge check after each of the three modules.
  2. Following the computer prompts, return to the training's Brightspace page for instructions on downloading your certificate.
  3. Share your certificate of achievement with the search committee chair and save it for your records.
