Description: | A survey of Sub Sahara African history which traces the development of this part of Africa from prehistoric times to the present. Major emphasis is directed toward recognizing the importance of Africa and Africans in history and pre-history. A brief survey of the early history of Africa, the Middle Age of African history with Africa's rich cultural and artistic heritage, the nature of African political systems, the rise and decline of the powerful kingdoms and empires, the era of the Atlantic Slave Trade, the colonial period, nationalist movements, and the diverse economic and political systems that have developed in post independence Africa. |
