Description: | Sponsored by the Lilly Endowment Retention Initiatives, Honors (HONR) 101 is a three-credit course designed to be limited to twenty-five first year students, all of whom will be able to apply for research funds to work with a specific professor on a research project at some time in the following year. The function of the seminar is to provide these students with a broad introduction to types of research within the University, to diverse research methodologies and procedures, and to various research outcomes. Overall, the goal of the seminar is to introduce these students to a highly diverse range of research possibilities within the University and to provide them with a sense of how, even as undergraduates, they can contribute to the research mission of the University, inevitably enhancing their own emerging careers. |
