Description: | Students will seek to understand the circumstances under which particular operating capabilities are most beneficial and how such capabilities can be developed so that operations can be exploited for competitive advantage. Specific topics will include capacity strategy, facilities focus, process choice, product profiling, flexibility, value analysis, and building capabilities, such as product/process development, cycle time reduction in operations, quality improvement, and organizational learning. Many of the cases will feature a decision requiring both financial analysis combined with an operational strategy issue. Concurrent Prerequisite: MGMT 61000, 65000, 66000. |
