Description: Assists students to develop and broaden clinical judgment and skills. Content includes the study of primary health care of children and adolescents with acute conditions and the impact of those conditions on family members. The focus is on growth and development, assessment, differential diagnosis, clinical decision making, management, and patient and family education within the context of primary care. Professional issues, collaboration and scope of practice, and advocacy are emphasized. Clinical seminars focus on variations of child health in the context of health promotion and advanced assessment.
