Description: Examines private equity markets and the financing of entrepreneurial firms. It begins with an overview of private equity markets, including the development of the market, the primary issuers, the primary investors, and the structure of private equity partnerships. It then examines valuation issues in entrepreneurial ventures; alternative sources of financing for entrepreneurial firms, including venture capital, angel investors, corporate partners, and initial public offerings; and it examines the application of the private equity model in two other settings: (a) corporate venture capital programs, and (b) industry consolidations.
