Description: | Advanced techniques for automated modeling and visualization of complex environments, such as rooms, buildings, urban scenes, and landscapes. Topics covered are at the confluence of computer graphics, computer vision and engineering, and include: capture technologies, acquisition device calibration, view registration, panoramic images, 3D reconstruction from images, view morphing, 3D image warping, lightfield modeling and rendering, visual hulls, point-based modeling and rendering, view dependent texture mapping, and application development issues and examples. Prerequisite: CS 58000, CS 53500 or a solid foundation in computer graphics, programming proficiency in C or C++ and basic linear algebra. |
