Description: Principles and characteristics of polymer chains, chemical structure and conformation (6 lectures) Basics of x-ray fiber and powder diffraction, model building algorithm and structure refinement procedures (8 lectures) Variety, variability and conservation in morphologies of ribbon structures such as cellulose, chitin and galactomannans and spiral polysaccharides including pectins, gellan and carrageenans (6 lectures) Amylose, amylopectin and their organization in starch granule (4 lectures) Protein ? polysaccharide interactions and their biological and industrial implications (6 lectures)
