Description: | An introduction to the human dimensions of forestry, fisheries, wildlife, watershed management, and recreation. Students learn how values, attitudes, community characteristics, and behavior relate to natural resource management and decision making. Various natural resource management stakeholders, such as private landowners, natural resource agencies, the judiciary, and environmental and natural resource interest groups are discussed. The course will utilize case studies specific to Indiana and the Midwest, as well as other regions of the United States. Weekly discussions and a semester-long research project are required. |
