| Description: | This course is designed to provide a foundation in the principles in animal physiology using a comparative approach with an emphasis on cellular mechanisms. Organ systems that will be covered include: nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular, muscular, and renal. By the end of the course the students will understand the functioning of the single cells in a system, the role they play in the system of which they are a part, as well as the interplay between systems to achieve the appropriate working conditions for the whole animal. |
