Description: Examines the salient issues of the 21st century in the political economy of Latin America. The first part introduces students to the historical evolution of the region's economy and its socio-economic and political determinants. Then it focuses on topical inquiry, analyzing key policy areas, frameworks and choices at the core of the current political economy of the region's countries: fiscal and industrial policies, monetary and financial policies and policies on trade, migration and inequality, energy and the environment.
