Description: An extensive individual design and/or analytical project performed in consultation with one or more faculty advisors. Collaboration with representatives of industry, government agencies, or community institutions is encouraged. Evidence of extensive and thorough laboratory performance is required. Phase I includes, but is not limited to: (1) faculty acceptance of project proposal, (2) defining and limiting project objectives, (3) initial research and source contacts, (4) project proposal management, (5) procurement of materials, and (6) periodic progress reports.
