Provides advanced study of specialized morphologic techniques used in research and for the diagnosis of diseases. The technical basis of such methods as immuno-chemistry, in situ hybridization, laser capture microdissection, and confocal microscopy will be presented, as well as some of their applications. The goal of this course is to provide a fairly detailed understanding of these techniques. A course in basic biology or immunology. Students should have a basic understanding of these disciplines prior to taking this course. |
