Description: This course provides a general introduction to the major concepts and perspectives of political science. It presents an introductory examination of principles, organization, processes, functions of government, and the interplay of political forces. Included will be consideration of the formation of political communities, political participation, policy making, compliance, legitimacy, political development and types of political systems. Both empirical and normative problems will be addressed.
