Description: Analysis of selected vertebrate and invertebrate physiological systems as an introduction to animal physiology. Neural and hormonal mechanisms of cellular communication and the roles played by these mechanisms in the action of specialized tissues; systemic and comparative physiology of respiration circulation, muscle contraction, osmoregulation, and sensory transduction. Emphasis on relationships between system function and underlying cellular mechanisms.
