Description: A holistic approach to mental health nursing examines the behavioral themes, social interactive patterns, and the treatment modalities for persons with emotional illness. Emphasis is placed on self-awareness, the use of self as a therapeutic tool and the nursing process in the management of persons with acute psychiatric problems. Creating a therapeutic milieu that promotes dignity and personal legal rights is demonstrated.
