| Description: | An introduction to numerical methods of interest to physicists, with application to problems in a variety of areas. Topics include projectile motion in the presence of realistic wind resistance, planetary motion and the 3-body problem, chaotic dynamics, and fractal growth processes. This course also provides a basis for the use of computational techniques in more advanced courses in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, statistical physics, and quantum mechanics. |
