Description: Consideration of the methods used in the early stages of design and performance analysis of flexible manufacturing systems, followed by more sophisticated queuing network performance analysis, and then computer simulation approaches for more detailed analysis. The conceptual basis for each of these methods is presented, and their integrated use in the design for flexible manufacturing is illustrated. Prerequisite: IE 53600, 58000.
