Description: Theories of community-based nursing and nursing leadership and management are analyzed in combination with related research and are applied to the nurse's evolving role in an era of health care reform. Learning opportunities emphasize the knowledge and skills needed to provide nursing care to client systems in the community. Future trends for nursing's leadership and management role are examined, with particular emphasis placed on the impact of health care reform.
