Short Title: Crop Physiology
Description: The study of physiological processes pertinent to crop performance and crop adaptation, encompassing the cellular and tissue regulation of processes and the expression of this regulation in crop plant performance. Special consideration will be given to comparisons of regulatory processes in living organisms and the adaptive responses of crop plants to environmental stimuli. The course is divided into three five-week sections taught consecutively. Students may enroll in any or all of the three sections. Section one deals with crop productivity; section two addresses environmental adaptation in crop plants; and section three covers special topics in crop physiology.
