Topics include: anatomy and physiology of the heart and circulatory systems; characteristics and measurement of the mechanical properties of the system, including cardiac output and blood pressures; the electrical nature of cardiac tissue and its evaluation via the electrocardiogram; cardiac stimulation and pacing; interactions between cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
