Description: Basic principles of color science: physiology of the human eye, trichromatic and color opponent models for color, and uniform color spaces. Color reproduction in electronic imaging systems: color models for input and output devices, color imaging system calibration, color quantization and halftoning, and color printing. Color appearance and computational color: color appearance models, models for color constancy, and physics-based models for color. Professor Allebach. (Offered in alternate years.)
