Description

The Arequipa Nexus Institute will be hosting its second Technical Workshop series at Purdue from July 21 to August 2, 2019.  The goal of the workshop series is to increase capacity building of Nexus participants, as well as to share results of their collaborative efforts.  Workshop sessions will cover a variety of subjects and techniques such as metrics for soil health and vulnerability, social science assessment methodologies, applications of environmental sensors, visual analytics for earth sciences, remote sensing, high-performance computing, stable isotope and nutrient analysis techniques, and field methods for soil and water samples (this part from last year).  Forty-five interdisciplinary faculty members, research scholars, and undergraduate students from the Universidad Nacional de San Agustin (UNSA) will be part of the Peruvian delegation led by Dr. Henry Polanco, UNSA’s Dean of the Engineering College and Co-Director – in conjunction with Dr. Timothy Filley, Director of the Arequipa Nexus Institute at the Center for the Environment, Purdue University.
