Mission Statement

The Methodology Center at Purdue (MCAP) is an interdisciplinary community increasing methodological rigor to advance health and social science knowledge. We serve as a translational entity between methodologists and applied health and social science researchers through collaboration, instruction, and research. We embrace the importance of inclusivity in methodology where all methods from all disciplines are valued.

We welcome student and faculty involvement from all levels of methodological ability, and hope you will help us to build an accessible and inclusive community of scholars.

Meet our co-directors, our 15 core faculty members, and our 101 faculty affiliates. Looking for a methodological expert? See a list of all MCAP members sorted by their methodological expertise.

Check out our upcoming and past events. And view the recent methodological courses taught by our faculty. Learn about the MCAP Graduate Certificate (currently open for enrollment). We also received funding for a week long longitudinal data institute starting in summer of 2026 for faculty and graduate students (more information to come). Finally, you can view the materials from prior workshops and examine our grant-related resources
