Faculty and staff colleagues across the Purdue system,
The situation surrounding federally sponsored research consists of multiple parallel tracks, and each changes continuously. The Purdue team continues to closely track ongoing government and court actions that might impact our federally funded research programs.
At any given moment, there are bound to be many questions. We do not make changes in policy or practice based on hypothetical directives. And we will forward information, which is agency specific, to the relevant principal investigators whenever we receive it.
Our university will continue to follow our values and our principle of “people first”, and will continue our core support for research. We also have longer-term strategies to support and grow our research enterprise. These strategies include further growing our industry partnerships and funding as well as philanthropic fundraising, both of which have been consistently and actively pursued at Purdue.
The entirety of your university leadership team is here to help and to support your success. A robust team spanning multiple offices is working continually to provide guidance. Please refer to our

for updated information. Many of you have also shared questions with us, and over the past two weeks we have held two Q&A sessions with deans, associate deans and department heads in West Lafayette. The thoughtful input, questions and feedback you have brought to us are very much appreciated.
As we navigate the rapidly evolving national landscape, Purdue’s commitment to research excellence and academic leadership remains steadfast. We are here to help you continue the vital work you do each day, and to ensure that collectively we continue to advance our research mission and student training.
Thank you for your continued focus on research. We are very proud of the scholarly quality and societal impact of your work.
Sincerely,
