ISF: Student Food Waste and Campus Behavior DUIRI - Discovery Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Research Internship Spring 2025 Accepted Food Waste, sustainability, behaviors This project focuses on how students think about food consumption and waste and how sustainable behavior is supported or undermined by the availability of appropriate disposal methods on campus. The project will use new survey interactive survey technology (Expiwell) to have students answer survey questions about how they package, bring or purchase food, how much they consume, and how they dispose of both food waste and packaging on campus to provide insight on how systems can support reduction in waste and improved cycling of food and packaging waste. Survey results will be pulled into ISF’s Self-study on Campus Sustainability. Abigail S Engelberth Valentina Negri Student will undertake a literature review, help develop the survey, work with collaborators and mentors to conduct survey, and analyze results. Student should have background or interest in food waste and sustainability; previous experience in social science methods/analysis helpful 0 10 (estimated)
