Physical activity participation in the context of fall prevention and management Individual Research & Mentoring Opportunities Spring 2025 Accepted Physical activity psychology (promotion of physical activity), fall prevention The Physical Activity Psychology Lab invites applications for a position of undergraduate research assistant. Our research includes observational/ repeated measures survey and systematic review methods. Specifically, this project includes a community-engaged research study that focuses on the maintenance of physical activity in older adults beyond program completion and a scoping review of the scientific literature reporting on the relation between concerns about falling and physical activity behavior. Terms: Spring/Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026. Steve Amireault The research assistant main’s responsibilities will be to recruit participants and help collecting data. Specifically, the student will:

• Prepare accelerometers for deployment.
• Extract and interpret data from accelerometers.
• Help with the recruit of research participants.
• Send accelerometers via postal mail to research participants.
• Use REDCap for project management, sending out surveys to participants, and enter
physical activity data.
• Assist in reviewing and screening the literature on concerns about falling and
physical activity behavior.

Training will be offered to the candidate. Possibility to received course credit through this opportunity.
Preferred qualifications: • Junior or Senior undergraduate students in the area of kinesiology, public health, human development family studies, psychology, or related discipline at the time of application • Being available for at least 3 hours on at least two (2) non-consecutive days on a weekly basis (for 15 weeks) for 2 semesters • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. 0 6 (estimated)
