Safety for Nurses in a Hospital Setting Individual Research & Mentoring Opportunities Spring 2025 Pending Workplace Violence, Hospital Safety, Nursing The purpose of this research project is to determine if hospitals should implement stricter policies to increase the safety of nurses in hospitals. The research will be gathered by completing a literature review of workplace violence in a hospital setting, the effectiveness of current hospital safety protocols, and the personal experience of current nurses regarding violence. Primary research will be conducted through a survey of Purdue nursing students and interviews with current registered nurses in the state of Indiana. The findings will be used to determine the effectiveness of current hospital safety policies and suggestions on how to improve them if needed. I am a current freshman in the nursing program at Purdue University.
