Project Understanding sex and gender in past populations using new skeletal techniques Program Margo Katherine Wilke Undergraduate Research Internship Program Term Fall 2024 Status Closed Research Area Archaeology, Anthropology Description This research project will focus on using a new technique to identify sex chromosomes in dental enamel. The results of these tests will provide important information about population composition that will be integrated with archaeological markers of identity from burials. This research is especially important for examining patterns by sex in juvenile individuals for which skeletal techniques are unreliable and for testing alternative techniques in adult remains.
