Building deputies help make it right
Over the course of her tenure as a building deputy, Lee Ann Happ has received some unusual phone calls late at night and throughout the day. Coyotes on the prowl near the School of Veterinary Medicine. Burst water pipes in a hospital ward. As one of 144 building deputies across Purdue's West Lafayette campus, Happ frequently collaborates with Physical Facilities staff to address everything from periodic emergencies like these to routine maintenance requests.

Voluntary benefits to be highlighted Oct. 18-20
Companies participating in Purdue's voluntary benefits program will present information sessions on the West Lafayette campus Oct. 18 and Oct. 20. Between the two days of presentations, the companies will host a voluntary benefits fair on Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the East and West Faculty Lounges in Purdue Memorial Union. Purdue, Colombian company seek research collaborations
President France A. Córdova and Federico Restrepo, CEO of Grupo Empresarial EPM (Empresas Públicas de Medellín), sign a memorandum of understanding that will facilitate collaborations in the areas of nanotechnology, water resources, environmental science and energy. The agreement between Purdue and EPM, a major utilities and telecommunications company in Colombia, encourages mutual research visits, joint development of research projects, and exploration of partnerships related to entrepreneurship and commercialization programs at Purdue and comparable programs sponsored by EPM. Purdue solar house gets a new home
A section of the Purdue Solar Decathlon home is lifted by crane on
Wednesday (Oct. 12) to its permanent foundation. The house,
which placed second in an international competition in Washington,
D.C., is being reassembled in Lafayette's Chatham Square, a
development that replaces a blighted public housing project. The
home's solar capabilities are expected to greatly lower the monthly
costs for the family that will eventually live there, and the house
will serve as a solar energy laboratory for Purdue students for the
