This academic year, Beau Moore will approach his role as 2013-14 chair of the Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee with the thoroughness and thoughtfulness of someone experienced in that job.
Indeed, Moore served as acting chair of APSAC for six months before his term began in June. That time leading the committee provided Moore with invaluable knowledge, he says, about the insight, perspectives and professional dynamic of its representatives, who hail from across campus.
Faculty and staff news
A recent upgrade to BoilerCast gives faculty more control over the automated lecture audio and screen recording service and provides feature enhancements such as live streaming, ad hoc captures and improved audio quality. ITaP is currently accepting requests for course recordings for the 2013 fall semester.
Course nominations for meeting the foundational outcomes of the undergraduate outcomes-based core curriculum are still open.
The Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Committee and the Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee are accepting nominations for the Community Spirit Award.
Faculty and staff are reminded that the Purdue Welcome Center and Parking Facilities have new spaces in Purdue Memorial Union and Purdue West, respectively. Both were formerly located in the Northwestern Avenue Parking Garage.

Applications for the Trask Innovation Fund are being accepted now through Sept. 13 to eligible Purdue inventors who are prepared to move their innovation to the market.
The business of raising fish may still be relatively small in Indiana, but it is a growing part of the state's agricultural economy, a Purdue Extension report concludes.
