Guyana, in the northeastern corner of South America, boasts some of the world's last remaining virgin tropical rainforests. There, in the upper Potaro Basin of western Guyana, Cathie Aime, professor of botany and plant pathology, and her colleagues have spent the past 17 years hunting for undiscovered fungi.
